About

Living in a Chemical Soup is a blog, website and podcast with information and resources for people wanting to learn how to create a non-toxic home.

In dealing with environmental-related illness over the last ten years,I've learned how to create a healthier home and experienced health benefits. Many people have found the same.

There is an abundance of information on the web: websites, newspaper articles, scientific studies, podcasts, discussion forums and more. I focus on some surprising information and sort through greenwashing. Sometimes, sorting fact from fiction is not easy.

We can't just go by marketing terms or words on a product's package.  The terms "Natural, Green" and even "Non-toxic" are meaningless and not backed up by any certification.  Learning to read labels, discussing ingredients and finding websites that have already done the ground work for us can all help.

Should you trust me? Well, I give my opinions but I believe we all need to learn as much as we can and make our own decisions. And what works for me might not be the best choice for you.  So don't trust me....LET'S LEARN!  I hope to narrow the field and provide useful info and tools to help in the process.
